Andrew Bazeley's Blues Workshop

Andrew Bazeley is probably best known locally as founder member of the great and much-missed blues/skiffle/jugband Barrelhouse Blues. He appears mostly as a solo acoustic blues performer these days, and has shared gigs with the likes of Michael Chapman, Pete Brown and Otis Taylor.

Since the age of about 12, Andrew has been fascinated by the sound of the late 1920s/early 1930s blues, and has spent many of the intervening years figuring out how the sound is made, building it in to his own repertoire and sharing it with others through private tuition.

At this years Woolley Festival, you'll have the opportunity to hear how the techniques can be learned, and take part in an acoustic jam, led by Andrew himself. Bring acoustic guitars and mandolins, harmonicas, shaking and stomping things, voices and lots of enthusiasm!

The workshop will be 40 minutes each, and split into the following sections, all are welcome to attend single sessions or the whole lot!

2pm - Acoustic Blues: The Basics

2:45pm - Acoustic Blues: Slide Guitar

3:30pm - Acoustic Blues Jam
